I am  a Dutch poet of Somali descent. I wrote my poetic debut in 2022, a collection of poems 'Mythen en Stoplichten '. A fearless debut' said the jury who awarded my book about my own transformation from man to woman with the Herman de Coninck Prize, the most important Flemish award for Dutch-language poetry. The bundle is also eligible for the Grand Poetry Prize 2023.
